Module 1: Fundamentals

The core moves every later module compounds on.

These are the moves you’ll use every single working day: digesting context, asking for output you can reuse, editing safely, and catching confident nonsense before it ships. Every later module assumes them, and so does every real task you’ll ever hand to Claude. You’ll reach for them when you inherit a product, prep for a meeting on a deadline, or face a folder of documents you don’t have time to read.

  • reading and synthesizing files without drowning in output
  • asking for structured output you can actually reuse
  • making safe, reviewable edits to documents
  • verifying results instead of trusting vibes

Ground every claim in a file you can point to, and make Claude separate its evidence from its inference, before you need that discipline on work that matters.

Not on this page. This site is your map; the classroom is Claude Desktop. Open a Cowork session pointed at the course-materials folder and say: “Take me to Module 1.”

If you’re lost mid-module, paste this into that session, even a brand-new one:

I'm taking the Claude Desktop for Product Managers course and I'm lost
somewhere in Module 1 (Fundamentals). Read COMPANION_INSTRUCTIONS.md
and my-progress.md in this folder, tell me where I am, and offer me
three ways forward.
